New year inspiration from Bucket List coach Nini Fritz

  • 5Minutes

“Always set goals from an intrinsic motivation for a powerful why. And go for step-by-step goal setting and tangible action steps.”

These words of guidance come from Nini Fritz, whose experience with setting meaningful goals and achieving them transformed her life and led her on the path of helping and inspiring others to live fuller, connect deeper and live happier.

Nini is a certified Bucket List Coach, the founder of The Work Happiness Projectand the creator of the eyeConnect game – a digital detox game meant to ‘foster connections stronger than wifi’.

But how did her journey start, you might ask…?

Nini’s intrinsic motivation was to live her life to the fullest. So, after handing in her thesis, she took a gap year – which she called her Bucket List Year – with the aspiration to meet goals that were meaningful to her, like hitchhiking in Nicaragua and learning Spanish.

As she was living out her Bucket List Year, she stumbled across a Ted Talk about bucket lists which inspired her and deepened her insight into how to create a purpose-driven and meaningful life with the help of a tangible action plan.

So, she sat down to refresh some of her goals and rearranged her bucket list.

The first goal on her list was wildly ambitious. She wanted to meet one of her heroes, the Dalai Lama. And…she did! She got to touch hands with him shortly after, in an incredible turn of events.

“Nothing is too big or too impossible!’ she says. ‘It’s all about taking some time out from your busy life to work on your life!”

The next step in her journey was to meet the man whose Ted Talk inspired her bucket list. While she was living in Australia, she decided to contact him in order to meet him and learn more about the bucket list coaching he was doing.

Then, magic happened again. She got her license for bucket list coaching and went on to proudly live her life as a digital nomad while continuing to live her best life, ticking things off her bucket list.

While the experience of working from anywhere in the world was incredibly freeing and exciting, she found herself feeling lonely at times. So, she started wanting to create something that would enable people to connect while working remotely.

That’s how the idea of her company was born. She founded her ‘remote teambuilding’ company (and created the eyeConnect) from a deep desire to humanize the digital work environment and boost remote teams’ bonds by bringing more meaningful connections and personal fulfillment to the ‘virtual office’.

Nini’s work is also rooted in the awareness that remote work enables us to build a life around our jobs, not the other way around.

She genuinely believes that we can only unfold our fullest potential and bring our best selves to work when we are in an environment that matches our values and helps us to shine our brightest light. It’s about thriving, not just surviving.

So, she designed all her remote team building offerings and workshops on these three pillars: Live fuller. Connect deeper. Be happier.

‘Live fuller’ is built into her 12-step M.Y.B.U.C.K.E.T.L.I.S.T. workshop, her Bucket List accountability check-ins, and her mini-themed workshops based around the Bucket List on topics like: ‘Goal setting and getting’, ‘Time Management Hacks’, ‘The importance of filling your own cup first’, and ‘Getting comfy outside your comfort zone’.

Connect deeper’ infuses her ‘Digital Detox’ workshop, her ‘No small talk’ coffee break networking session, and her sessions on ‘How to create & nurture a remote culture stronger than wifi’ and ‘How to make connections stronger than wifi – in life & at work’.

Be happier’ is at the core of her workshops ‘The art of happiness at work’ (based on principles of the Dalai Lama) and ‘The power of fun – how to feel alive again’.

She also uses these three pillars to design virtual Christmas parties, off-site retreats, and customized happy hours for teams.

Here at Growmotely, we got to play Nini’s eyeConnect game at our Community launch event. The gameplay was facilitated by Nini herself, in an atmosphere of pure fun and honest and vulnerable exchanges. By the end of the session, we all felt refreshed and more connected to each other. (We recommend checking it out if building connections stronger than wifi is one of your goals this year.)

We were also grateful to have Nini deliver a masterclass to our community at the end of last year, where she shared guidance on designing and taking action for a more fulfilling life.

We hope her story inspires you (as it inspired us) and encourages you to follow those goals that are meaningful to you, live your life to the fullest, and trust what unfolds out of it.

Here’s a glimpse into the two highly entertaining ‘virtual gatherings’ we had with Nini.👇

As we’re warming up to this new year, we also want to thank you for being part of our ecosystem so far and wish you a fulfilling year ahead. We’re rooting for you!
